T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure restaurant opened at Downtown Disney on October 13, 2008. The dinosaur-themed restaurant seats over 620 guests and features more than a dozen life-size robotic dinosaurs and real fossils in the bathroom walls. Open for lunch and dinner the cuisine offered is American. Guests can choose from salads, soups, meat dishes such as the Mega Mes-O-Bones ribs, pastas, seafood and sandwiches that will run from $11.99 to $29.99.
There is also a full-service bar, named the Shark Bar, which features T-Rita Cotton Tinis, a cotton candy martini, for $9.99 and a gift shop that features a Build-A-Dino. The restaurant is a collaboration between Landry's Restaurants, Schussler Creative and Walt Disney Imagineering.
Children are invited to dig for fossils in the fossil-pit, where a complete set of replica T-Rex bones are buried and this is just the beginning of the fun. Guests will also enjoy a prehistoric-themed show of lights, sound and robotic creatures.
There is no doubt that this is going to be a favorite at Downtown Disney. They've already become very popular and the wait can be quite long but it is well worth it.
