As guests enter the Haunted Mansion the first room they will be lead to is the portrait hall where it’s tough to figure out whether the floor is descending or the ceiling is rising. Next, you will be seated in three person cars where you will begin your journey. You will encounter 999 ghosts and ghouls which are displayed with both special effects and scary exhibits.
In order to keep the Haunted Mansion looking old and not kept up, Disney Imagineers have to apply coats of dust to the mansion on a daily basis.
This is one of the Magic Kingdom's original attractions opening with the park on October 1, 1971. This attraction is located in Liberty Square.
