Six Flags Marine World is located in Vallejo in the San
Francisco area. Construction on the park began in 1966 in Redwood City and the park was opened in July 1968. At its opening the park was owned by the American Broadcasting Company. In 1972 Ralph Helfer bought the park when it went bankrupt and added a wildlife park renaming the park Marine World/Africa USA. The park moved in 1986 to Vallejo and eventually, in 1999, became Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The property of the original Marine World/Afric USA in now the world headquarters of Oracle Corporation.
Today the park is not only an amusement park but also an animal park. The park offers a variety of roller coasters and other amusement rides mixed with animal exhibits and shows. This is a great little park and should not be missed when in the Bay
Area.
We had the opportunity to visit the park in 2005 and simply loved it. We hope you enjoy the photos and videos we took on our visit to the park.
