Castaway Creek Refurbishments Shark Reef

Typhoon Lagoon was opened on June 1, 1989. This is the home of the world's largest wave pool, Surf Pool and much more. The "Disney legend" behind the park's theme is of a typhoon that wreaked havoc upon a formerly pristine tropical paradise. Ships, fishing gear, and surfboards are strewn about where the storm flung them. The icon of the park is "Miss Tilly", a shrimp boat that was impaled atop a mountain named "Mount Mayday" that erupts a 50-foot geyser of water every half hour, right before the beels of the watch sound on Miss Tilly. Lagoona Gator, a close relative of the Blizzard Beach's Ice Gator, is the parks' mascot.
