Wet 'n Wild, located on International Drive just across the bridge from Universal Orlando, opened its gates in 1977. The park is considered the first major water park in the United States. The park was originally founded by George Millay, the SeaWorld creator. The park is now owned by NBC Universal (General Electric). The park is open year-round. It has grown and changed over the years and now offers guests approx. 17 different waterslides and attractions.
