REVIEW (JANUARY 18, 2004)
On Sunday evening January 18, 2004 we showed up at the Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows at approximately 6:35 worrying that we were so early but to our surprise the Gift Shop and Box Office were already opened and we had no problems getting our tickets and having time to look through this quaint little shop before we headed down to Theater II where we were going to see our show.
At 6:45 the door to the theater opened and the crowd starting entering. The show we were going to see was "The Premiere" which is suppose to be a premiere of a new Sci-fi Horror Movie "Tropical Adventure". I don't want to give anything away about the show other that from the time you go in until the time you leave you are totally submerged in the show. You are even seated by Jeremy, the Director Extraordinaire and host. Next thing you know out comes Nicki Deschamps, actress and co-host, and Jeremy instructs her to start passing out appetizers. She balks at the idea but Jeremy convinces her that it's good for her because it will be part of her next acting job. The other characters in the show are Mr. Henry Beaumont (Nicki's Uncle, Executive Producer, and biggest contributor to "Tropical Adventure"), Bert Segal (Nicki's Agent), and Madame Gilda (Psychic to the Stars and especially Nicki).
The premise behind the whole dinner show is that somebody gets murdered and it's your job to try to figure out Who Did It?, Why?, and With What?. This show is extremely fun and the dinner was very good. Make sure you pay attention, talk to the characters, and get to know the people at your table because as a team you will be able to ask the characters one question to help assist you in finding out who is guilty of the crime.
Overall I would say this show is well worth the price ($43.95 plus tax for adults and $23.95 plus tax for ages 3-11) and the time (show ran about 2 hours). I would go back tonight if I had the time!
